Today I will discuss with you a fun thing, and that is Google Dance. So what is this thing, many people may be surprised to hear the name. I think Google is a search engine, mobile or PC can be accessed with any browser. If you search for anything by typing it, the result will be seen on the result page, but how does it dance? Again, many of you must have started thinking that it seems like a special day or festival when our well-known search engine Google understands and starts dancing. The fact is that every search engine, including Google, displays results based on the keyword or key phrase we searched for. The page that opens the results is called Search Engine Results Page (SERP), and the position of a webpage or website based on a specific keyword or key phrase in this SERP is called position or ranking. So everything from searching to displaying results is done in a special process, and that is indexing. This indexing is to list as many websites as possible on the basis of different keywords, or different categories, in a search engine, or to list them in simple language. So when we users type and search for something, based on that searched keyword, Google can easily show us the results in the blink of an eye, within a few milliseconds. But since the whole web world is constantly changing, it is constantly being updated, many new websites and web portals are constantly being added to it. So all types of search engines, including Google, need to update themselves to keep up with them. As a result, for a very short period of time, such as a few hours or at a certain time of the day, various websites fluctuate their position in the Google SERP. This symptom can last up to 2-3 days in many cases. So Google Dance is the name of this process of moving the position of a website in Google's SERP. I hope you all understand.

আজকে আপনাদের সাথে একটা মজার জিনিস নিয়ে আলোচনা করবো, আর সেটা হলো গুগল ড্যান্স (Google Dance)। তো এটা আসলে কি জিনিস, নামটা শুনে অনেকেই হয়তো অবাক হচ্ছেন। ভাবছেন গুগল তো একটা সার্চ ইঞ্জিন, মোবাইল কিংবা পিসিতে ঢুকে যে কোনো ব্রাউজার দিয়ে এটাকে একসেস করা যায়। যে কোনো কিছু লিখে এটাতে সার্চ করলে সাথে সাথে তার ফলাফল রেজাল্ট পেইজে দেখা যায়, কিন্তু এটা আবার নাচে কিভাবে ? আবার এর মধ্যে অনেকেই হয়তো ভাবা শুরু করেছেন এটা মনে হয় এমন কোনো বিশেষ একটা দিন কিংবা উৎসব যেদিন আমাদের অতি পরিচিত সার্চ ইঞ্জিন গুগল বুঝি নাচা শুরু করে। আসলে তা না, ব্যাপারটা হলো যে গুগল সহ প্রত্যেকটা সার্চ ইঞ্জিনই কিন্তু আমাদের সার্চকৃত কিওয়ার্ড (Keyword) কিংবা কি-ফ্রেইজ (Keyphrase) এর ভিত্তিতে ফলাফল প্রদর্শন করে। ফলাফল যে পেইজটিতে ওপেন হয় সেটাকে বলে Search Engine Results Page (SERP), আর এই SERP এ কোনো নির্দিষ্ট কিওয়ার্ড কিংবা কি-ফ্রেইজ এর ভিত্তিতে কোনো ওয়েবপেইজ কিংবা ওয়েবসাইটের অবস্থানকে বলা হয় পজিশন বা র‍্যাংকিং। তো সার্চিং থেকে শুরু করে ফলাফল প্রদর্শন পর্যন্ত সকল কাজ হয় একটা বিশেষ প্রক্রিয়ায়, আর সেটা হচ্ছে ইনডেক্সিং (Indexing)। এই ইনডেক্সিং হচ্ছে বিভিন্ন কিওয়ার্ডের ভিত্তিতে, কিংবা বিভিন্ন ক্যাটেগরির ভিত্তিতে যত গুলো সম্ভব ওয়েবসাইটকে একটা সার্চ ইঞ্জিনের আওতাভুক্ত করা, বা সহজ ভাষায় লিস্টিং করা। যাতে করে আমরা ইউজাররা যখন কোনো কিছু লিখে সার্চ করবো তখন সেই সার্চকৃত কিওয়ার্ডের ভিত্তিতে যেনো গুগল আমাদের কাছে খুব সহজেই চোখের নিমিষে, কয়েক মিলিসেকেন্ডের মাঝেই ফলাফল হাজির করতে পারে। কিন্তু যেহেতু সম্পূর্ণ ওয়েবের জগতটাই প্রতিনিয়ত পরিবর্তনশীল, প্রতিনিয়তই তা আপডেট হচ্ছে, অনেক নতুন নতুন ওয়েবসাইট এবং ওয়েব পোর্টাল ক্রমাগতই তাতে যুক্ত হচ্ছে। তাই গুগল সহ সকল প্রকার সার্চ ইঞ্জিনেরই প্রয়োজন পরে সেগুলোর সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে নিজেদেরকে আপডেট করে নেয়ার। এর ফলে যেটা হতে দেখা যায়, খুব অল্প সময়ের জন্য যেমন কয়েক ঘন্টা কিংবা দিনের একটা নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে বিভিন্ন ওয়েবসাইটের গুগল SERP এ নিজেদের অবস্থান ওঠানামা করে। এই উপসর্গটি অনেক ক্ষেত্রে ২-৩ দিন পর্যন্তও থাকতে পারে। তো গুগলের SERP এ কোনো ওয়েবসাইটের এই অবস্থান ওঠানামা কিংবা আগেপিছে যাওয়ার এই প্রক্রিয়াটার নামই আসলে গুগল ড্যান্স। আশা করি আপনারা সবাই ব্যাপারটা বুঝতে পেরেছেন।
